Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Mangalore Branch Welcomes You

Dear Colleagues,

As Convenor of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Mangalore Branch and Organizing Secretary of the 48th annual conference of IAP, to be held in January 2010 (22nd to 24th Jan) in Mangalore, Karnataka. It is my privilege to extend a warm welcome to all physiotherapists from India and all over the world.

The theme for the conference is "Let's Move The Physio Way". The importance of a conference is manifold. To communicate crucial internal decisions within a profession is an important reason to hold a conference. Conferences provide an important channel for exchange of information within profession dealing with organizational matters, matters concerning the status of the profession, and scientific or technical developments.

Mangalore is located in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. It derives its name from the local Hindu deity Mangaladevi. It developed as a port on the Arabian Sea - remaining, to this day, a major port of India. Lying on the backwaters of the Netravati and Gurupura rivers, Mangalore is often used as a staging point for sea traffic along the Malabar Coast. The city has a tropical climate and lies on the path of the Arabian Sea branch of the South-West monsoons. Its port handles 75% of India's coffee exports and the bulk of the nation's cashew exports. Mangalore's location makes it accessible via all forms of transport. Mangalore is demographically diverse with several languages. The city's landscape is characterized by rolling hills, coconut palms, freshwater streams, and hard red-clay tiled-roof buildings.

Our organizing Committee is making its best efforts to make this event informative, interactive, relevant and memorable for you. A galaxy of eminent faculty from abroad & India will be participating. Besides, other professional issues will be addressed at Debates, Panel discussions and a trade exhibition to showcase products from India and all over the world. We promise that this conference would be a cultural fiesta as well.

We once again invite you and solicit your whole-hearted cooperation and participation to the 48th annual conference of IAP from 22nd to 24th Jan. 2010. We look forward to a large gathering of professionals from all over India for an exhilarating and exciting venture.

We will make every possible effort to make your stay comfortable and memorable. We are eagerly waiting for your registration and participation.

With Best Regards

drifthi
